SAVE MY BONES IN THE BOX UNDER YOUR BED

My thesis collection inspired by the relationships between humans and the natural world, framed through the lense of Portuguese/Azorean culture and the are of tiling within that. All garments are hand embroidered, hand knit, and created using second-hand materials.

the dirt under her nails

My pre-thesis collection that explores the world of female-dominated craft with references to my grandmothers who were immigrant seamstresses. The collection highlights the juxtaposition of how beautiful and sentimental garment-making can be, while also highlighting many of it’s grueling aspects. This collection features elements of silk fibers that I harvested from my own silk worms, as well as incorporates hand knitting and mixed media garments.

BRIDAL WORK

Several wedding gowns and bridal capsules I have made between 2019-2023. Each includes bespoke hand-sewn processes, and plays with unique materials including laser-cut chiffon, hand-knit lace, and hand-cut floral appliqué.

AVANT GARDEN

A capsule collection focused on combining fibers primarly that come from combining plant and animal fibers in mixed-media garments such as the designs combine eveningwear and streetwear. This capsule acts as a look into my own garden - metaphorically speaking - a cross-pollination of different design elements I love.

ded grlz dnt cry

A capsule collection designed in the heart of COVID focused on the expression of youth culture and rebellion in a time when self-expression and social interaction was limited.
